RE: Dome or open dish? Semi Auto or fully auto
We like the flexibility of the antenna on the tripod outside. With 150 feet of coax it is usually able to get clear of trees and obstructions.
RE: Can I get Diesel??
When we first started pulling with a diesel nine years ago, we sometime found it hard to find diesel (when we needed it) on the backroads. Additionally, some Mom-and-Pop stations were too small to get into with our fifth-wheel. We started carrying a five gallon container in the back. We have only had to use it a couple of times but it provides a good feeling whenever we are getting close.
RE: No Freeze Water Hose
I saw the reference to them in Highways magazine. They looked really good until I went to the website and saw the prices. No thanks!
RE: Cable Wire for Campground Hook-up/Davis Mountains
Our cable connection is adjacent to our electrical so 25 feet was plenty for us. In general, it never hurts to have two 25ft pieces on board for different situations. Davis Mountains SP is a great place and is one of the few with full hookups. Have fun!
RE: traveling with fresh water tank full
We generally prefer to travel with only enough to get to the next campground. However, we have found ourselves having to dry camp for several days unexpectedly and ran out of water. After a couple of these experiences we now travel from place to place with a full tank.
RE: Replacing Sealand Toilet Seal
Thanks, Frank. I sprayed some 303 protectant from Camping World on the seal and ball. I think that I will order another set of seals while I know where to get them and have them ready when the problem returns. I may even get a new ball assembly since it was the hardest to clean.
